Jo is an experienced teacher and lifelong Wiccan. Believing that most paths that harm none hold an aspect of our shared truth and growth, she has always been open to discussions about other paths. Lifting others up has been her lifelong passion and she does so through offerings, tangible representations of the celebration of spirit and spirit within.
Avoiding Toxic Spirituality. Jo was raised in an alternative spirituality — the reader would imagine that would offer a healthy relationship with spirituality and our alternative culture. Unfortunately, far too many people are running from something in the mainstream culture instead of exploring options. Let’s find ways together to help us navigate relationships with those offering expertise and guidance that works for us and individuals. All Welcome. Sankofa: FRI, July 18, 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. East Shire
How Can Movement Be Spiritual? Meditation is a reliable form of spiritual development but what about movement? How can we move to respect spirit and support our spiritual growth? All Welcome. Sankofa: SAT, July 19, 9:00-10:30 a.m. East Shire
Wake and Make. For years, we have been meeting early in the Studio to make our own creations. Part of Wicca-Craft is the crafting. I can teach you to make simple items using crochet, as well as assistance with more complicated patterns. We usually have tea and sit to chat while making. Jo can also sew although bringing a sewing machine is a little daunting, we can effect simple hand repairs at camp. Knitters often join us, so crochet is usually not the only craft on offer. We do try to meet daily for the early risers at camp. See you soon! All Welcome. Sirius Rising: TUE, July 22, 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Studio
Living Loving Our Mother. Let’s start with recycling. Jo lives in a place where recycling is challenging and inconvenient. There is information available about local recycling also. Yet, she still runs an Earth club and actively recycles. Jo makes Plarn and teaches others how to reduce their carbon footprint. We will make an adult camping craft using materials that Jo has recycled. If we all actively reduce our footprint, we can slowly make a positive outcome for the planet we all currently share. Are you recycling here at Brushwood? Do you recycle at home? What is your impact? What else can you do? All Welcome. Sirius Rising: THU, July 24, 9:00-10:30 a.m. Studio
Make Pagan Pride Every Day! Don’t let your horizons shrink in even if you are no longer quite so active out there in the “real” world. Many of us have concerns about how we interact with the public (the threat of Child Protective Services looms large for parents) and we are aware of instances where people have lost jobs because of a newspaper article although that was not the stated reason, the newspaper article was in the person’s personnel file. What can you do? Walk the walk, talk the talk, answer questions when you are asked and get out there! We have advice on volunteering in the community “at-large”. Please come. All Welcome. Sirius Rising: SAT, July 26, 9:00-10:30 a.m. Studio
