Sage Ashworth

Sage has been interested in all kinds of arts and crafts their whole life. They love to make things and have learned how to crochet, knit, embroider, braid, sew, and more…just for fun! They can’t wait to teach a workshop for the first time in 20+ years of attending Sirius, as the only thing more fun than making something is making something with others.

Friendship Bracelets  Using just some embroidery floss, an anchor, and your hands, you can walk away with the knowledge to make all kinds of patterns of friendship bracelets! This craft is a simple combination of up to 4 kinds of knot, and absolutely anyone can learn. Strings of all colours will be provided to get your first bracelet started. Class is free, though donations are appreciated to cover costs. String will also be available for purchase.   Child Friendly (5-11) with Parent

Fingerloop Braiding  Fingerloop braiding is an old art, dating to at least the middle ages. Loops of thread are anchored to one spot and then manipulated and laced together with the fingers to create all manner of cordage and braids. Suitable for anything from keychains to handfasting cords and everything in-between, this is a fun and useful craft. Strings of all colours will be provided. Class is free, though donations are appreciated to cover costs. String will also be available for purchase.   Teen Friendly (12-17)

Things with Strings   Friendship bracelets, fingerloops braids, and other fun braiding and cording that can be done with any kind of embroidery floss, yarn, or thread. There are braids that don’t need to be knotted, but are instead woven – apply this knowledge to hair, or use it to braid other materials like leather or fabric to create belts or drum straps. If you missed one of the other workshops, come learn to tie a friendship bracelet or make a loop-braided cord. Strings of all colours will be provided. Class is free, though donations are appreciated to cover costs. String will also be available for purchase.   All Welcome
