The Sankofa festival is before Sirius Rising and focuses on the creative spirit that is in all of us. For over 40 years now, Brushwood has nurtured the free thinkers, the artists and those who work hard to make a difference. Saturday of Sankofa usually showcases the talent in our Brushwood community. Paolo Garbanzo is an award-winning juggler, fire-eating comedian & Jester of a castle in the UK, who offers D&D excursion tours of Europe.
Dayl fell in love with Fat Chance® style belly dance during her first class in January 1999 and has been performing and teaching ever since. Fat Chance Style® movements, costuming and music choices are heavily influenced by folkloric dance styles from the Middle East, North African, Spain, and India. Today Dayl presents a solo piece with sword.
“Bodies in Motion” is a show put on exclusively by the Sankofa festival Brushwood community; anyone is welcome to participate. All they need is a body, in motion!
