Evan Stuckless

Evan Stuckless, a familiar face from the early days of Sirius Rising, has been studying Kabalistic Tarot for more than 30 years within the B.O.T.A., Golden Dawn, and Gardnerian traditions. These days, he calls himself a Hermetic Philosopher who studies and practices Fractal Astrology and Geometric Kabalah. Fancy words for a practice that simplifies and unites different magickal practices into a flexible and powerful magickal system. Evan’s musical persona of Papa Coyote has been composing and performing world folk dance music with light and love for more than 40 years.

Building the Temple with the Cube of Tarot. The Kabalah is said to be aligned with the Tarot and lays at the heart of the Western Magickal tradition, but how so? What can a non-Abrahamic practitioner glean from the Hebrew alphabet? What is the Cube of Space and how can we use it to further our studies and practices of any spiritual current? Join us as we use the Major and Minor arcana to build our understanding of universal principles and extend our personal growth with this flexible and powerful magickal system.  All Welcome.  Sirius Rising:  5:00-6:30 p.m.  MON, July 21  North Pavilion

Qabalistic Tarot on the Wheel of the Year. Why is the 3 of Cups Abundance but the 3 of Swords signifies Sorrow? What can I do about either if they show up in a spread? How can I better understand life events and syncretize Kabalah, Astrology, Tarot, and ritual practice. Join us as we explore how the astrological wheel of the year combines with the Kabalistic Tree of Life to signify the meaning behind the Minor Arcana of the Tarot. Explore ways to grow and affect outcomes with ritual and meditations.  All Welcome.  Sirius Rising:  5:00-6:30 p.m.  WED, July 23  North Pavilion

Melodic Polyrhythms.  Musicians of all levels! Bring your melodic instrument down and join Papa Coyote as we jam and explore less-common, non-traditional (i.e., non-Western) syncopations like alternate meter, poly-meter, and polyrhythms. What are these musical cadences and how can we apply them to the songs we know and new ones we create? We’ll look at rhythm patterns from Mali and the African-diaspora and use them to create songs on the spot!  All Welcome.  Sirius Rising:  5:00-6:30 p.m.  FRI, July 25  North Pavilion
